Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Alpena County Recent Arrests does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent to Us
Email and contact-form messages are retained as needed to answer the sender. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Visit Information
Routine web logs and analytics may collect technical details when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring site, when available; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookie Controls
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or delete cookies, though some features may respond differently when cookies are blocked.
Purposes for Collected Data
- Operate and improve site performance;
- send searches to the selected partner;
- understand which resources visitors use;
- diagnose errors and security problems; and
- display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links lead to jail rosters, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, news sources, and third-party search tools. After a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls.
Some advertising providers may measure activity across several sites to select ads. That processing takes place within the provider's systems, not this site's own records.
Limited Data Recipients
Personal information is not sold. It may be handled by:
- search partners processing a query;
- analytics providers;
- advertising networks; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise absolute security, so the site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Adults Only
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion if a minor submitted personal data.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information held;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- ask that eligible information be deleted; and
- opt out of certain processing where the law provides that right.
Notice Revisions
This policy may be revised as practices change. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date.
